My post this morning will be regarding
this article.
Now that article is about a mayor in the UK who spoke in derogetory terms about our president.
"The controversial left-wing leader made his attack on Thursday. He told a forum of 200 schoolchildren: "I think George Bush is the most corrupt president since Harding in the twenties. He is not the legitimate president."
He added: "This (The U.S. administration) really is a completely unsupportable government and I look forward to it being overthrown as much as I looked forward to Saddam Hussein being overthrown." "Rather insiteful, if you ask me, but that's beside the point. The part that worries me is this...
"Some shoppers on the streets of London told CNN they thought the comments were ill-advised. "Americans are patriotic, we don't want to end up like France," one told CNN.
Steven Norris, the Conservative Party candidate for London mayor, told the UK Press Association: "It is utterly irresponsible for the mayor to mouth off about the U.S. president at a time when we need to do all we can to attract back American tourists." "What the hell is that???? What is this country coming to??? We burn/smash Dixie Chicks albums, Madonna is editing her videos, we are serving Freedom Fries in the Congressional Lunch room, they are trying to make it illegal to burn a flag...
I realize that we are only entitled to
freedom of speech. But perhaps we are adhering too strictly to the letter of the law rather than the spirit of the law. I don't like a lot of what people say. Mostly conservatives, christians and stupid people. But I don't stand on a street corner, decry their anti-patriotism and tell them love it or leave it!!! Nor do I burn their albums or boycott their stores or countries. I respect their right to be conservative, christian and stupid. I don't listen to them. I will sometimes try to find out why they think the way they do and tell them why I think they are wrong. But for crying out loud!!! How can the land of the free and the home of the brave, the Great American Melting Pot use international extortion tactics against countries we think are wrong and domestic persecution against it's own citizens for expressing their beliefs. So you think they're wrong!!! They still make good music and they had the intestinal fortitude to say what they thought and felt. Isn't that what America is supposed to be about? A diverse weave of thoughts and ideas making a strong tapestry of red white and blue?
This whole administration with it's attitude of "agree with me or get run over" is tearing this country apart. Hell, it's tearing the world apart. And it goes against everything America is supposed to stand for. I greive for all of us. And I agree with the mayor. I look forward to it being overthrown.

I apologize for not posting recently. There have been some issues going on with my son that I have had to deal with. But I ran across this and just had to put it up here. I feel it's quite appropriate:
"Individuals have international duties which transcend the national obligations of obedience... Therefore [individual citizens] have the duty to violate domestic laws to prevent crimes against peace and humanity from occurring." - Nuremberg War Crime Tribunal, 1950.
